Vittorio Villa, born in Monza on December 21st, 1961, has a Conservatory diploma in violin and performed as violinist with important Italian Orchestras (Verona's Arena Orchestra). He obtained the Diploma of violinmaker at the International Making School of Cremona under the guidance of his brother Marcello Villa.

He has been also teacher at the same Institute, where he furthermore had the opportunity to research the aspects of physical acoustics in the field of bowed instruments. It is due to this background, both as a performer and as a researcher, that Vittorio Villa's instruments are sought after by musicians for their sound quality in addition to their fine workmanship.

Vittorio Villa, finalist in several Italian and international violin making competitions (Città di Bagnacavallo, A. Stradivari Cremona, Comune di Baveno), prefers to work based on the classic Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesù patterns and he also constructs reproductions of famous old instruments. His varnish is of a transparent dark-orange colour. He also makes decorated inlaid instruments according to the Stradivari Hellier and Greffhule models.
