Marco Pedrini was born in Codogno in 1983. Since he was a child he has been keen on music and on wood-working. At the age of 14 he started attending the Scuola Internazionale di Liuteria (International School of Violinmaking) A. Stradivari in Cremona where in 2000 he received the prize "Grandi- Taglietti" as best student and where in 2002 he obtained his diploma under Maestro Giorgio Cé. Then he attended the professional course of the Lombardy Region and, at the end of it, he did the apprenticeship at the Workshop of Maestro Giorgio Grisales. In this workshop, he refined the techniques of the stringed instruments construction. In 2007 he decided to open his violinmaking workshop in Castelnuovo Bocca d'Adda (LO). From November 2008 he is transfered in the old town of Cremona in Via Beltrami n 22. His production regards the classical cremonese instruments: violin, viola, cello and double bass. The models he gets the inspiration from are the following: Stradivari, Guarneri, Ornati, Garimberti and Montagnana, besides to his own personal models. He makes modern instruments but he also makes copies of antique instruments, besides making restoration works and repairs on antique instruments.
